How the platform actually works

How Har Ghar LMI works

What we do, what we are paid, and who decides what. No small print version of this page exists — this is the whole answer.

The five steps, in order

Each one has to finish before the next can start. That is not a description of good intentions — the system refuses to skip them.

1

You check, for free

Three questions. We check several lenders' rules at once, using only what you told us. No credit bureau is contacted, so nothing is recorded against you.

2

You see the offers

Each lender that would lend, what they would lend, and at what rate. Nothing has left the platform at this point — no lender knows you exist.

3

You read the real cost

Before anything is sent, we show you a Key Facts Statement: the all-in annual rate including fees, and the total you will repay. You have to pass through this screen. It is not a link.

4

You choose the lender, by name

You give permission to share your application with one specific lender. If you want a second lender, we ask you again. There is no blanket 'share with our partners' box, because we do not think that is consent.

5

The lender decides

They approve or decline on their own criteria, and they are responsible for the loan afterwards. We show you where it is and how long it has been there.

What we are paid

The lender pays us, not you. When a loan we introduced is disbursed, the lender pays Har Ghar LMI a commission. It is not added to your loan, not deducted from what you receive, and does not change your instalment.

If an agent introduced you, part of that commission goes to them, and part to whoever brought that agent in. All of it comes out of the lender’s payment. None of it comes out of yours.

We tell you this on the Key Facts Statement as well, on the screen where you decide.

What we are not

We are not a lender. We do not decide whether you get a loan, we do not set the rate, and we do not hold the loan. The lender you choose does all three.

We also do not sell your data. Your details go to a lender when you tell us to send them, to that lender, and to nobody else.

Your data, and taking it back

Every permission you give is recorded — what for, to whom, when, and the exact words you were shown. You can see that list in the app and withdraw any of it.

Withdrawing stops anything further being sent. It does not remove what a lender already holds; they have their own obligations for that, and we will not pretend we can reach into their systems.
